Distorting Perceptions

Distorting Perceptions is about rethinking what comfort means to us. As humans we learn through interaction and use our senses to adapt to a place. Distorting Perceptions is challenging a place of comfort by applying spikey forms to interiors to create disfigured objects so that our perception of that place is irregular and what we normally see as sharp and fearful is now soft and comforting. The interaction evokes a sense of hesitation by playing with our conscious minds as there is an awareness of potential danger but it is distorted by the contrast of soft colours and spongy foam materials. Misleading the user’s emotions it becomes an interaction where what discomforts us could be a strangely appealing experience.
